Professional Experience

Member of the Supreme Court (2021-2023).
He acts as Arbitrator of first and second instance in the CAM Santiago and as Member of the Expert Lawyers Roster to integrate the Arbitration Commissions of the Public Works Concession Contracts, in accordance with article 36 bis of the Public Works Concessions Law, being appointed as such by the Supreme Court (2018 to date).
He is a member of the Latin American Arbitration Association (2010 to date) and the International Association of Insurance Law and member of its Panel of Arbitrators (2013 to date).
Before joining Marinovic & Alcalde, he worked as Partner in charge of the Dispute Resolution Department of Philippi PrietoCarriozosa Ferrero DU & Uría (PPU) from 2008 to 2019. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as an associate lawyer at Rodríguez, Vergara y Cía. Previously, from 2001 to 2006, he was the Chief Legal Officer of Punta de Lobos S.A. He also held the same position at Prospecta Group from 1999 to 2005. From 1996 to 1998, he was the Chief Legal Officer of Enersis S.A. (nowadays Enel). Previously, from 1993 to 1995, he was Legal Advisor of the Central Bank of Chile. He was also Chief Counsel of Chilectra from 1992 to 1995. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a lawyer in the Legal Counsel Department of the Central Bank of Chile from 1985 to 1991.

Academic Experience

Professor of Civil Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1989 to date); member of the Editorial Board of the Chilean Law Journal (2000 to date) and Director of the Corporate Governance Center UC. (2002 to date).

∙ Director of the Academy of Private Law UC and, in such capacity, Coordinator of the permanent collaboration agreements between the UC and the Superintendence of Securities and Insurance, and between the UC and the Institute for Judicial Studies.
